Meaning of the BuciSu Logo

The BuciSu logo carries a special personal and symbolic meaning. Is handwritten and hand-drawn. The name consists of two parts:
Buci – is a shortened version of the Slovenian word bucika (eng. pin with a ball head). The Slovenian language has a unique word for this tool. This uniqueness inspired me when choosing the name.
Su – has a double meaning. The Latin word sutura means stitch, and at the same time, it represents the abbreviation of my name, Suzana. Thus, BuciSu combines sewing, creativity, and a personal story into one whole.
The Butterfly as a Symbol – a hand-drawn butterfly is also part of the logo and holds a special meaning for me. I have been fascinated by butterflies since my high school days, where I was given the nickname butterfly. Their lightness, transformation, and beauty have always inspired me, which is why I included them in my visual identity.
About me
I am Suzana, a graduate occupational therapist, but at heart, a creator. My love for sewing was born during my internship, when I first created custom compression garments and gloves. This experience inspired me and opened the door to the world of sewing, where today I find my relaxation, joy and the opportunity to transfer my creativity into every stitch.
Sewing means much more to me than just a hobby – it is my way of expressing myself, my moment of relaxation and an opportunity to make others happy. I believe that every product I make carries its own unique story, tailored to the wishes and needs of my customers.
Whether it’s a unique product or a minor sewing repair – I’m happy to create for you and with you!
How did it all start?
In elementary school, I often looked towards a sewing machine, but I did not devote myself to sewing during this period, nor later. Until my internship in occupational therapy, when I first encountered sewing custom compression garments and gloves. At that time, I was literally “thrown” into making a product that would help people. This experience awakened a creative desire in me that I have been upgrading year after year.
At first, I borrowed my mother’s sewing machine, which had fascinated me since I was growing up, and started sewing my first decorative pillows, mending clothes… But when I received my own sewing machine as a Christmas gift from dear people, my world opened up. I am excited by the idea that you can make a product that is useful yourself – from the cut to the finished product.
This is how my first products were created, which I happily gave to friends, relatives… And until today, when I opened up to the world and presented my products to everyone else so they could be part of this story.
